What are the most common endodontic treatments?
Endodontic treatment involves diagnosis, assessment, planning, preparation, extraction (removal) of diseased dentin (tissue), disinfection or obturation (filling a cavity) of the root canal space, evaluation of extent of treatment and measures to prevent future complications.
Intracanal medication with or without irrigation and root canal treatment (non-surgical retreatment) is most commonly used.

It involves the removal and cleansing of the pulp and infection from an infected root(s) of a tooth.
A root canal may be needed for multiple reasons, such as a cracked or broken tooth, toothache, persistent sensitivity to hot or cold foods and drinks and exposed roots due to deep decay.
This procedure is done with local anesthesia so the patient doesn’t feel any pain and only experiences slight discomfort.
